Are Droopy Or Sagging Eyelids Aging You Faster Than You’d Like?

Upper Lid Lift – Restore a Well-Rested Appearance

An upper lid lift (upper blepharoplasty) is a powerful yet subtle way of re-framing the eyes. The procedure can be done for both aesthetic and functional purposes. As a Board-Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Karolak is able to transform droopy eyelids into an overall well-rested appearance.

How Does an Upper Lid Lift Work?

Upper eyelid surgery is done safely under a local anesthetic and takes less than an hour to perform. Dr. Karolak uses his skill, artistry, and experience to produce a younger, more alert appearance by thinning fat pads, removing excess skin, and tightening underlying muscles. Each procedure is customized for the individual patient allowing Dr. Karolak to preserve optimal volume and the patient’s natural eye contours.

Am I a Good Candidate
For an Upper Lid Lift?

You may be a good candidate for an upper eye lift if you feel that your eyes make you look tired, angry, or sad even when you’re not. An upper lid lift can help restore a youthful look with a balanced overall facial appearance.

Certain patients may benefit from paring their upper eyelid lift with a brow lift or a lower lid lift for enhanced results. Patients considering the procedure should be in otherwise good general health. Non-smokers will tend to have a quicker recovery.

What Results Will I See?*

Most patients can see instant eye rejuvenation after their procedure. In the days and weeks following surgery, results will become more clear. The majority of swelling will have dissipated after about 2-weeks leaving you with a happier, healthier overall look. The procedure typically has a high patient satisfaction rate for years to come. In fact, many patients only need one upper lid lift in a lifetime.

I had upper blepharoplasty surgery performed by Dr. Karolak. I am so pleased with the results which far exceeded my expectations. I interviewed several plastic surgeons but Dr. Karolak spent the time and attention I needed to explain the procedure and answer all of my questions.

I look great and many people have commented on how good I look but they have no idea I had upper eye lid surgery! I highly recommend Dr. Karolak.*

What is the Recovery Like?*

Recovery from an upper lid lift is relatively straightforward. Because a local anesthetic is used throughout the surgery, there are no initial ‘comedown’ effects. You’ll be asked to avoid activities that can be strenuous for 2 weeks post-treatment. While full recovery can take several weeks to several months, most patients feel comfortable returning to most daily activities within 1-2 weeks.
