You have probably heard of a facelift, but what about a mini facelift? What’s the difference, and what’s better for me? A mini facelift can be thought of as a smaller version of a lower facelift surgical procedure designed for younger patients to catch signs of aging early on. It’s definition will vary from surgeon to surgeon. Conversely, a facelift is more suited to people who want to treat concerns such as wrinkles, creases, loose muscle, sagging skin or volume loss.

Whether a mini-lift or a facelift is right for you will depend on your age, skin type, the aging process, and other individual needs. You will be able to decide on all this with the help of Dr. Karolak, a Board-Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon. He is known for his ability to produce dramatic, yet natural-looking results with minimal scarring or downtime. You can rest easy knowing you’ll achieve an optimal outcome, no matter which type of lift you choose.

What Are My Options?

At Karolak Facial Plastic Surgeon, we offer both types of facelifts to our patients. Dr. Karolak will help each patient determine the best route for them to take. Each treatment plan will be customized based on individual needs, concerns, and desires.

Mini Facelift

A mini facelift by Dr. Karolak is a good option for those who have early facial muscle sagging, early to moderate jowling, good skin quality with minimal to moderate excess skin, and mild aging in the neck. The main focus of Dr. Karolak’s mini-lift is to tighten the jawline, soften nasal and marionette folds, and slightly elevate the cheeks. So if that’s what you’re after, then this could be the perfect option for you.

Although a mini-lift is also a surgical procedure, it is less invasive than a full facelift. Sometimes, smaller incisions can be made during a mini-lift if there is not much excess skin. Recovery can be quicker than with a full facelift, but in some cases, it can be the same. Healing times vary from patient to patient. Because it is a smaller version of a lower facelift, it’s also less expensive. Although surgery cannot stop the aging process, tightening the underlying muscles and removal of excess skin help give results that can be enjoyed for many years afterward.

Facelift & Mini Facelift Consultations Available

Facelift

Compared to a mini lift, a Facelift is a more involved procedure that allows more work to be done in terms of facial muscle tightening, repositioning facial volume, and removal of excess skin. It is also more expensive. However, as a consequence, you can expect results to last much longer than with a mini-lift.

A facelift is great for treating concerns such as wrinkles, creases, sagging skin, or volume loss. The procedure focuses on achieving excellent cheek volume, a smooth jawline, a neck without excess fat, and tightening any loose fat around the face and neck area.
