Blepharoplasty, more commonly known as an eyelid lift, addresses the most common signs of aging by removing excess skin from the upper or lower eyelids. Excess fat below your eyes can cause the appearance of “bags”. Removing this fat and tightening this excess skin allows you to look as young as you feel.

Cost is an important factor for many patients when deciding whether to undergo this procedure. Dr. Mark Karolak can provide you with an individualized quote based on your needs.

What Goes into the Cost of an Eyelid Lift?

The price of blepharoplasty can vary by region, the experience of the surgeon, and the extent of the surgery you need (upper, lower, or both). Dr. Karolak has honed his technique and artistry over ten years to offer patients long-lasting, natural-looking results without the risk of general anesthesia.

Will Insurance Cover the Costs?

Health insurance companies don’t generally cover eyelid surgery when done for cosmetic reasons, as it is considered an elective procedure. In some cases, where a vision test confirms a medical reason (ptosis), your insurance may cover the cost of your blepharoplasty. Dr. Karolak does not participate with any insurance.

What Are My Options?

Upper eyelid surgery can correct sagging skin and heavy, tired-looking lids. Lower lid surgery addresses excess skin and fat under the eyes. When both upper and lower surgeries are completed at the same time, recovery time can be minimized. Dr. Karolak will discuss your concerns and aesthetic goals to determine if you are suited for one or both.
